Kendall's work documents her fascination with the colors, patterns, and textures found in nature and her love of stories, particularly myths, fairy tales, and other fantastical narratives that point our consciousness towards what is beyond the visible world.
Working in pastel allows her to be nimble. Ideas can be worked into an existing composition spontaneously. Details can be purposefully vague or carefully articulated. Color and texture are easily transformed. Ideally in the end, the finished piece has not been transcribed from an original idea, it has evolved.
